This one was one of my favorites :) It's a standard A2 size card (as all of my cards are so far).
1. I cut and folded the card base, cut out and rounded the corners of the black mat, and cut out the polaroid using an X-acto knife. The bear is from Create a Critter. I don't remember exactly which paper pack I used for the patterned background.
2. I stamped both "hello" and "friend" from the Chit Chat Paper Smooches stamp set with Memento Brilliance ink in Pearlescent Sky Blue.
3. I tied twine around the black mat with red and white baker's twine from Martha Stewart Crafts.
4. I adhered the black mat to the card base with foam squares and the polaroid to the black mat with more foam squares.
This card was a copycat :) It was just so bright and pretty, and I had all the supplies to make it. The original card had a "Happy Birthday" sentiment, but I changed it to "congratulations" for my friend's baptism. Congratulations, indeed. :) There was no blog associated with the original picture, but lead to a flickr account named LindenRianna.
1. I used Martha Stewart's doily lace border punch on all of the different colors. I punched them all to the full 8.5" so that I could perfectly align all the scallops.
2. I glued every layer down starting with the lavender and working my way up to the red. I wanted to use a polka dotted black grosgrain ribbon, but didn't have any so I drew white dots using a white gel pen on a strip of black cardstock.
3. I glued down my "ribbon" and stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches' Sentiment Sampler set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
1. I cut the sky blue mat. The sun, whale, and clouds were cut out from Create a Critter. The clouds were embossed with Divine Swirls embossing folder from Provocraft.
2. I used the Dotted Wave edger punch from EK success to create the waves. I stamped the sentiment using two Hampton Art's alphabet stamp sets, one for the capital letters and the other for the lower case letters using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
3. I then glued the clouds and whale using my ATG gun. I popped up the sun with foam squares. I know I adhered the vellum directly onto the card base, but I forget what I used to make sure it didn't show through the vellum.. if it didn't. I already gave it away, so no way of telling now I guess! Haha.
This card was made with a yellow base :) Something different & ties the card together.
1. I cut out all the rubber ducks using the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge. I outlined the edges and the wings using a yellow marker, colored the beaks orange with a marker, and dotted the eyes with a black marker.
2. I just ripped the "waves" by hand and stamped the "welcome baby sentiment" using Paper Smooches' Salutations stamp set with Memento Bahama Blue ink. I first glued the mat onto the card base, then the two ducks "in" the water, and then the water all with my tape runner.
3. I popped up the three ducks in front with foam squares and then added Favorite Findings mini pastel buttons from Walmart in rainbow order.
4. Lastly, I tied a sky blue satin ribbon to the top.
1. I started out with a pink card base. I'm not sure what paper stack I used for the two mats and strip of green. The three outfits were fussy cut from DCWV's Nana's Kids paper stack. (Yay for the first paper that I remember where I got it from!) I glued down the white polka dotted cardstock first.
2. I added the laundry line using pink and white twine and popped up the outfits with foam squares.
3. I stamped the "welcome baby" sentiment from the Salutations stamp set from Paper Smooches and added the Favorite Findings mini pastel buttons again in rainbow order on the strip of green paper.
4. I next adhered the second mat to the card base and then the green strip on top.
5. For the last step, I tied a pink and white bow with twine and added it above the sentiment.
Whew, that was the longest one yet!
